Back on Track

Wow, never knew it was so easy to start blogging ;-) No wonder every man and his dog are at it. This blog is for no-one's benefit but my own but all are welcome to read it. My first aim is to stop boring my friends to death with my inane ramblings about politics, football, kids, work and life in general. The second aim is to create a memory log so that I can laugh at myself from the future.

So, some scant background to help it on its way. I am a 40-something year old with husband and 2 children. I live in the south east of England but come originally from Dublin. I have supported Liverpool FC since childhood. My politics are left of centre and rather liberal. I am a feminist and not afraid to admit it. I work part time for a national charity (partly employed and partly self-employed) in the field of early parenthood and breastfeeding.

I am a reluctant exerciser but recognise it is the only way I can continue to enjoy food without my weight ballooning. I got my sorry ass out this morning to pick up the running again. I did the whole couch-to-5k program (http://www.coolrunning.com) in the spring but I stopped when it got too hot the last weekend of June and then the schools broke up and the rest, as they say, is history. Dropped the darlings at 8am sharp and was parked up at my favourite running spot by 8:11am. I decided to start at week 5 of the program ( as I have done it before) and surprised myself by being able to do it! Grateful thanks to Sandy Toksvig & Co for keeping me company.

I'll stop now as I have to work this afternoon but will be back. You have been warned!
